I drew inspiration for this piece from the biblical story of Joseph. Joseph was the favorite son of his father, who gave him a coat of many colors; he also had dreams where all peoples and the sun and moon bowed down before him. Joseph’s brothers grew jealous of their father’s attention and shunned him for these dreams; they sold him into slavery to get rid of him, smearing animal blood onto his special coat
